Eric and Florence welcome you all year round to their gîte "La Grange à Gaby" located in the village of Engins at an altitude of 947 metres in the Vercors Natural Park.

Only 20 minutes from Grenoble, 10 minutes from Lans en Vercors and 15 minutes from its ski resort, you will have access to all the mountain sports in winter (cross-country skiing, ski touring and downhill skiing, snowshoeing ...) and in summer (hiking, climbing, canyoning, mountain biking, Via Ferrata.......)

Within a radius of 15 km you will find all the shops and essential cultural activities (ice rink, swimming pool, casino, library ....)

Many events take place on the plateau throughout the year.

The gîte is housed in an old barn and has been entirely restored by the commune of Engins and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region. It is composed of 7 modular rooms with private or shared bathrooms, with a total capacity of 19 people.

Two dining rooms are available, one on the first floor of the building with a panoramic view of the mountains, which is complemented in summer by an outdoor terrace. A bar and a second terrace are located on the ground floor of the building.

Our chef offers a cuisine based mainly on local products. Packed lunches, sandwiches and salads to take away are available on request.

You can relax in our lounge equipped with a flat screen television and board games or at our bar while tasting local specialities, as well as crepes, ice creams, cocktails and Vercors beers.

The hearty breakfasts are served in the restaurant room in buffet form and are adapted to the practice of mountain activities.

Engins is a French commune located in the department of Isère in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, formerly part of the ancient province of Dauphiné.

It is the obligatory passage from Grenoble, via Sassenage, to the northern Vercors, also known as the "Quatre-Montagnes". It is the most economically and demographically developed area of the massif. The village is well served by a road that connects it to the Isère valley and to the major cities of the region, including the nearby Grenoble area, and the Lyon area, where access to the motorway is less than 10 kilometres from the village.

Historically, the parish of Engins depended on the Lords of Sassenage, whose castle, now a museum, is situated below the cliffs of Engins at the entrance to the neighbouring commune of Sassenage. The commune is also one of the entrances to the Vercors regional nature park. During the 19th century, the first carriage road that opened up the Vercors massif passed through the territory of Engins (hamlet of Jaux), thus allowing the agricultural and forestry economy to open up to the outside world.

The municipality, which hosts the Berger chasm network on its territory, well known in the caving world, is incorporated into the Fontaine-Vercors canton created in 2014. It is also a member of the community of communes of the Vercors massif and its inhabitants are called the Enginois.
